Specialist Ford RS Gallery

Being an Essex boy born and bred, and like most car enthusiasts local to Dagenham and Warley, I have a particular affection for Fords. Not so much the modern cars which look like every other car on the road, the older ‘FastFord models such as the Lotus Cortina Mk1 & 2 from the mid to late 1960’s, Escort Mk1 Mexico, RS1600 & RS2000, Mk2 Mexico, RS1800 and RS2000, Capri RS2600 (actually built in Cologne, Germany) and RS3100 – all of which are extremely rare sights on our roads today. The more modern 1980’s / 90’s RS200 and later RS Escort and Sierra models also deserve a mention, and I have collected sales literature on all of these cars since the 1970’s. My collection of UK market brochures is more or less complete (I think!) and the scans in this gallery show the front covers of a selection of Capri and Escort RS and Mexico models up to 1980, along with a brief description of each one. Due to the high level of interest in these cars, these brochures are now very collectable. I do have duplicate copies of many of them, so please send me an e-mail if you are interested in obtaining one (or more). A word of warning though, they are not cheap! I hope you enjoy this section – all factory references have been included where the item has one, and please get in touch if you would like any more information or pictures of them. In the future I hope to add further FastFord sections covering the post Mk2 Escort and Sierra brochures plus the many other Fast Ford non-RS models. This is however totally dependant on my good buddy Torchie, who is not only clever enough to set this website up for me, but also plays some mean guitar in my rock covers band which you can see at www.sadattheclinic.co.uk |
